Resumo

O alinhamento dos países com os ODS só é possível com o engajamento e envolvimento das instituições, pois elas precisam olhar para seu papel e sua contribuição além de suas fronteiras de forma sistêmica, buscando a redução de seus impactos ambientais negativos e aumentando seus impactos sociais positivos. Neste contexto, as Instituições de Ensino Superior (IES) desempenham papel fundamental, uma vez que as atividades de ensino, pesquisa, extensão e inovação possibilitam atingir resultados diretamente relacionados às metas dos ODS. Este trabalho trata-se de um ensaio analítico sobre conteúdos de publicações relacionadas às contribuições das IES brasileiras para os ODS e, por conseguinte, os benefícios dos ODS nas IES. A análise de conteúdo buscou publicações na base de dados Science Direct no período de 2019 a 2021. Dos artigos selecionados, três foram publicados em 2019, 11 em 2020 e dois em 2021. Dez publicações tinham como tema central a COVID-19, o que reflete a preocupação mundial com a pandemia e a busca para identificar impactos não apenas na saúde, mas em outras áreas, como sustentabilidade, geração de resíduos e impactos ambientais, em alinhamento com as metas da Agenda 2030. As publicações analisadas claramente revelam a necessidade de incluir os ODS nas discussões em âmbito gerencial/estratégico das IES. Entretanto, os ODS mostram-se alinhados à estrutura das universidades de forma individualizada, alcançando pontualmente algumas metas de alguns ODS, enquanto a Agenda 2030 propõe o cumprimento destes de forma sistêmica, integral e equilibrada para que todos os ODS sejam observados e suas metas amplamente implementadas.

The alignment of countries with the SDGs is only possible with the engagement and involvement of institutions, because they need to look at their role and their contribution beyond their borders in a systemic way, seeking the reduction of their negative environmental impacts and increasing their positive social impacts. In this context, Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) play a key role, since their teaching, research, extension and innovation activities make it possible to achieve results directly related to the SDG goals. This work is an analytical essay on the content of publications related to the contributions of Brazilian HEIs to the SDGs and, consequently, the benefits of the SDGs in HEIs. The content analysis sought publications in the Science Direct database in the period from 2019 to 2021. Of the selected articles, three were published in 2019, 11 in 2020, and two in 2021. Ten publications had COVID-19 as their central theme, which reflects the global concern about the pandemic and the search to identify impacts not only on health, but in other areas, such as sustainability, waste generation, and environmental impacts, in alignment with the goals of Agenda 2030. The analyzed publications clearly reveal the need to include the SDGs in discussions at the managerial/strategic level in HEIs. However, the SDGs are aligned to the structure of universities in an individualized way, achieving some goals of some SDGs, while the 2030 Agenda proposes the fulfillment of these goals in a systemic, comprehensive and balanced way so that all SDGs are observed and their targets widely implemented.
