Resumo

A crise brasileira e o aumento do desemprego chegando a 13,1% no primeiro trimestre de 2018, conforme apontados pelo Instituto Brasileiro de Geografia e Estatística, fizeram com que a criação de novas formas de emprego viesse a emergir. Uma das oportunidades criadas foi a formalização da profissão de microempreendedor individual, trazendo inúmeros benefícios para diversas pessoas, bem como sendo sua fonte de geração de renda. Dentre as vantagens está a arrecadação através do Simples Nacional, bem como o baixo número de exigências feitas aos MEI’s. O presente estudo tem caráter qualitativo, sendo realizado em um dos Municípios do Vale do Jaguari - RS, tendo como natureza a pesquisa exploratória, buscando analisar dados referentes ao perfil dos microempreendedores da sua região. Quando comparado este perfil ao dos MEI’s em âmbito nacional, verifica-se que o percentual que mais se formalizou nesta profissão, em ambos os contextos analisados, são pessoas do gênero masculino, com notoriedade para os ramos de atuação nos setores de comércio e serviços, possuindo uma faixa etária mais avançada no município, quando analisada em perspectiva da maioria da faixa etária do perfil dos MEI’s brasileiros. Em virtude dos fatos apresentados, sugerem-se para novos estudos, diferentes características no perfil dos microempreendedores.

The Brazilian crisis and the rise in unemployment reaching 13.1% in the first quarter of 2018, as pointed out by the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics, made the creation of new forms of employment to emerge. One of the opportunities created was the formalization of the individual microentrepreneur profession, bringing numerous benefits to several people, as well as being their source of income generation. Among the advantages is the collection through the National Simples, as well as the low number of requirements made to MEI's. The present study has a qualitative character, being carried out in one of the Municipalities of Vale do Jaguari - RS, having as nature the exploratory research, seeking to analyze data referring to the profile of the microentrepreneurs of its region. When comparing this profile to that of MEI's at the national level, it can be verified that the percentage that was most formalized in this profession, in both contexts analyzed, are men of the masculine gender, with notoriety for the branches of activity in the commerce and services sectors, having a more advanced age group in the municipality, when analyzed from a perspective of the majority of the age group of the Brazilian MEI profile. Due to the presented facts, different characteristics in the profile of microentrepreneurs are suggested for new studies.
