Resumo

O presente trabalho tem por objetivo compreender qual a percepção dos atuais vereadores do Município de Cacequi – RS, sobre a importância do Princípio da Moralidade na execução das suas atribuições como agentes políticos municipais. Nesse sentido, questiona-se: como os agentes políticos municipais (vereadores) percebem o princípio da moralidade no exercício de suas funções? A pesquisa valeu-se da técnica de abordagem qualitativa, com a realização de pesquisa de campo, por meio de um encontro agendado com o Presidente da casa, sendo realizado o questionamento aos demais participantes. Foi utilizado este método para que os entrevistados pudessem pensar livremente sobre o princípio abordado, decorrentes de suas ações e práticas como agentes políticos municipais. O tema é de relevância tanto para os vereadores, quanto para os cidadãos em relação à prática do próprio princípio. A partir dos resultados obtidos, pretende-se buscar novas informações e novas ideias para contribuir com a compreensão da moralidade no exercício das funções políticas.

This paper aims to understand the perception of the current councilors of the Municipality of Cacequi - RS, on the importance of the Principle of Morality in the execution of its attributions as municipal political agents. In this sense, it is questioned: how do municipal political agents (councilmen) perceive the principle of morality in the exercise of their functions? The research was based on the technique of qualitative approach, with the accomplishment of field research, through a meeting scheduled with the President of the house, being the questioning to the other participants. This method was used so that interviewees could freely think about the principle addressed, deriving from their actions and practices as municipal political agents. The theme is of relevance both for councilors and for citizens in relation to the practice of the principle itself. From the obtained results, it is sought to find new information and new ideas to contribute with an understanding of morality in the exercise of political functions.
