Resumo

Objetivando analisar a tendência atual do uso das Tecnologias Digitais de Informação e Comunicação (TDICS) no Brasil e suas regiões, esta pesquisa é classificada como descritiva visando descrever o uso da internet relacionado ao acesso às TDICs no Brasil utilizando os dados obtidos no SIDRA que fazem parte da Pesquisa Nacional por Amostra de Domicílios. A caracterização dos dados permitiu identificar o seguinte cenário: grande prevalência do uso do celular para o acesso à internet, e com predomínio das pessoas de 60 anos ou mais utilizando o celular como recurso de acesso à internet. No âmbito nacional, observou-se que a região Sudeste apresenta mais usuários de internet utilizando o celular, em relação as outras regiões, e a região Norte apresenta o menor número de consumidores. Há evidências também que o consumo de internet em relação ao uso do computador está diminuindo na maioria das regiões, e o consumo de internet relacionado a tablets vem crescendo na região Sudeste, Sul e Centro-Oeste. Com o aumento do uso da internet e das tecnologias digitais no Brasil e a identificação dos locais de maior e menor acesso, é possível, futuramente alcançar a qualificação contínua das tecnologias relacionadas ao uso da internet, melhorando o planejamento nacional e as políticas públicas voltadas para o desenvolvimento tecnológico.

In order to analyze the current trend in the use of Digital Information and Communication Technologies (TDICS) in Brazil and its regions, this research is classified as descriptive in order to describe the use of the internet related to access to TDICs in Brazil using the data obtained in the SIDRA that make part of the National Household Sample Survey. Data characterization allowed us to identify the following scenario: a high prevalence of cell phone use for internet access, and the predominance of people aged 60 and over using the cell phone as an Internet access resource. At the national level, it was observed that the Southeast region presents more Internet users using the cell phone, compared to other regions, and the North region has the lowest number of consumers. There is also evidence that Internet consumption in relation to computer use is declining in most regions, and tablet-related internet consumption has been increasing in the Southeast, South and Central West regions. With the increasing use of the Internet and digital technologies in Brazil and the identification of the most and least accessible places, it is possible in the future to achieve the continuous qualification of technologies related to the use of the Internet and to improve national planning and public policies aimed at technological development.
