Resumo

As Instituições de Ensino Superior (IES) são consideradas Grandes Polos Geradores de Viagens (PGVS), pelo fato de possuírem um grande número de viagens realizadas. Desse modo, o presente trabalho teve por objetivo estudar os hábitos de viagens realizados em uma ies no estado do Rio Grande do Sul de modo a identificar o perfil e padrões de viagens realizadas. Através da aplicação de um questionário à comunidade que frequenta a IES foi possível coletar informações de forma abrangente do modo de transporte mais utilizado, a frequência de viagens realizadas, o tempo de deslocamento e os fatores motivacionais na escolha do meio de transporte. Essas informações coletadas foram separadas entre grupos e comparadas através da análise do teste de Mann-Whitney, de forma a compreender os fatores mais relevantes nas realizações das viagens e para testar se existem diferenças significativas entre os motivos de escolha do meio de transporte usado entre os grupos. Por fim, os resultados do estudo identificaram que os grupos analisados possuem preferências distintas em relação ao meio de transporte mais utilizado, entretanto, ambos os grupos possuem fatores semelhantes em relação às barreiras ao uso da caminhada e da bicicleta, destacando-se assim, um cenário onde necessitem de melhorias e incentivos a utilização de transportes mais sustentáveis.

The Higher Education Institutions (HEIS) are considered Travel Generator Poles (TGPs), for the fact of own a large number of trips performed. Therefore, the present work has to objective to study the travel habits carried out in an IES in the state of Rio Grande do Sul to identify the profile and patterns of travel performed. Through the application of a questionnaire to the community that frequens the IES it has been possible to collect information about the most used transportation mode, the travel frequency performed, the shift time and the motivational factors in the choice of the transport environment. These information collected were separated between groups and compared through Mann-Whitney test analysis, in order to understand the most relevant factors in carrying out travel and to test if significant differences exist between the choices of the means of transport used between groups. Therefore, the results of the study identify that the groups analyzed have different preferences with regard to the most used transportation environment, however, both groups have similar factors regarding barriers to the use of the walk and the bike, understanding this, a scenario which need improvements and incentives to use the most sustainable transportation.
