Resumo

É intuitivo associar o futebol com a rotina da vida dos brasileiros. Neste contexto, assim como os torcedores, os clubes são parte essencial do esporte. Todavia, nos últimos anos houve o aprofundamento das dívidas destas instituições, tornando-as, em alguns casos, insolventes até para cumprir obrigações usuais como os salários. Observa-se que o endividamento tem origem em gestões mal planejadas ou irresponsáveis. Paralelamente, os números levantados por duas agências esportivas mostram que as receitas dos times brasileiros nunca foram tão elevadas como atualmente. Partindo-se de uma revisão bibliográfica, o presente estudo objetivou apresentar os fatores que fizeram com que grandes clubes do cenário nacional se encontrassem envoltos em dívidas insustentáveis. Neste sentido, uma alternativa para transpor tal situação tem sido a privatização.

It is intuitive to associate football with the routine of the Brazilian's life. In this context, like fans, clubs are an essential part of the sport. However, in recent years there has been a deepening of the debts of these institutions,, making them, in some cases, insolvent even to fulfill usual obligations such as salaries. It is observed that indebtedness originates from poorly planned or irresponsible management. At the same time, the figures raised by two sports agencies show that Brazilian teams revenues have never been higher than they are today. Based on a bibliographic review, the present study aimed to present the factors that caused large clubs in the national scene to be involved in unsustainable debts. In this sense, an alternative to overcome this situation has been privatization.
