Resumo

Com a evolução das tecnologias, em economias capitalista, resulta em um cenário onde o homem deixa de ser necessário para a execução de muitas atividades e usualmente a chamamos de Tecnologia Convencional ou Capitalista (TC). Na década de 1960, para definir alternativas a TC utilizou-se inicialmente concepções como Tecnologia Apropriada (TA). O conceito de Tecnologia Social (TS), surgiu devido a degradação ambiental e a exclusão social, resultado do processo de globalização. A Tecnologia Social, para Rodrigues e Barbieri (2008) engloba desde produtos, técnicas ou metodologias, cuja interação com a comunidade, resulte em soluções que proporcionem transformações sociais. Para tanto, este artigo aborda os principais conceitos e estudos recentes de maneira a responder a seguinte indagação: Qual o estado-da-arte envolvendo a Tecnologia Social? Portanto, se objetiva investigar o estado-da-arte da Tecnologia Social. Acerca do objetivo proposto pelo estudo, a sequência metodológica que norteou esta pesquisa, foi de caráter exploratório, com abordagem quanto à natureza dos dados qualitativa. Realizou-se uma pesquisa teórica com o uso de revisão de literatura através de material já elaborado, constituindo-se de livros, teses, dissertações, e artigos científicos. O estudo se justifica pela relevância do tema e por ser ainda pouco explorado academicamente. Com o estudo foi possível se constatar que a Tecnologia Social se trata de um tema atual nos estudos acadêmicos e com um acervo bibliográfico ainda escasso. Os autores tratam a Tecnologia Social, mais em contraposição ao modelo de Tecnologia Convencional, do que se atentando e em explicar o seu conceito. E, no que se refere as perspectivas existem iniciativas e ações, bem como autores que realizaram estudos comprovando a contribuição da Tecnologia Social para a solução e superação de demandas sociais, colaborando para o desenvolvimento de localidades.

With the evolution of technologies, in capitalist economies, it results in a scenario where man is no longer necessary for the execution of many activities and we usually call it Conventional or Capitalist Technology (TC). In the 1960s, to define alternatives to CT, concepts such as Appropriate Technology (TA) were initially used. The concept of Social Technology (TS) emerged due to environmental degradation and social exclusion, the result of the globalization process. Social Technology, for Rodrigues and Barbieri (2008) encompasses products, techniques or methodologies, whose interaction with the community, results in solutions that provide social transformations. To this end, this article addresses the main concepts and recent studies in order to answer the following question: What is the state-of-the-art involving Social Technology? Therefore, it aims to investigate the state-of-the-art of Social Technology. Regarding the objective proposed by the study, the methodological sequence that guided this research was exploratory, with a qualitative approach to the nature of the data. A theoretical research was carried out with the use of literature review through material already prepared, consisting of books, theses, dissertations, and scientific articles. The study is justified by the relevance of the theme and because it is still little explored academically. With the study it was possible to verify that Social Technology is a current topic in academic studies and with a still scarce bibliographic collection. The authors deal with Social Technology, more in opposition to the Conventional Technology model, than paying attention and explaining its concept. And, regarding the perspectives, there are initiatives and actions, as well as authors who carried out studies proving the contribution of Social Technology to the solution and overcoming of social demands, collaborating for the development of localities.
