Reumo
Sabe-se que medir os indicadores de performance é uma ação fundamental no ambiente empresarial. Por isso, este estudo se destinou a investigar o perfil das pesquisas e a evolução teórica do tema Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) ou Indicadores de Performance. Foi conduzida uma revisão bibliométrica, analisando os artigos publicados em periódicos indexados pela Web of Science, considerando os registros encontrados até 16 de junho de 2021. Foram analisados 2.122 documentos. Os resultados mostraram que: (1) há um crescente interesse e publicação sobre o tema; (2) a produção encontra-se pulverizada em diversos periódicos, com ênfase no International Journal of Performance Analysis in Sport, Journal of Cleaner Production e Transportation Research Record; (3) existe uma diversidade de segmentos que utilizam Key Performance Indicators (KPIs); (4) as citações apresentam um crescimento contínuo e gradativo ano após ano. Infere-se, contudo, que ainda não é possível considerar que existe um robusto campo teórico sobre o tema, o que levanta a necessidade de novos estudos.
Measuring performance indicators is a basic action in the business environment. This study aimed to mapping the research field and the theoretical evolution about the theme Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). A bibliometric review was conducted, analyzing the articles published in journals indexed by the Web of Science, considering the records found until June 16, 2021. A total of 2,122 documents were analyzed. The results showed that: (1) there is a growing interest and publication on the topic; (2) production is dispersed in several journals, with emphasis on the International Journal of Performance Analysis in Sport, Journal of Cleaner Production and Transportation Research Record; (3) there are a variety of segments that use Key Performance Indicators (KPIs); (4) citations show a continuous and gradual growth year after year. It is inferred, however, that it is not yet possible to consider that there is a robust theoretical field about the subject, which raises the need for further studies.
