Resumo

Discussões acerca do meio ambiente e a sustentabilidade vem aumentando nos âmbitos educacionais e acadêmicos e permeiam as diversas áreas do conhecimento. A educação ambiental surge, neste contexto, como uma alternativa para delinear mais claramente estes conceitos como forma de modificar não apenas comportamentos, como também a percepção dos indivíduos sobre a temática. O presente estudo além de resgatar os fundamentos bibliográficos da temática, busca compreender a forma como os alunos de uma escola provada de segundo grau percebem as questões relacionadas ao meio ambiente e sustentabilidade. A abordagem do estudo é qualitativa do tema e se caracteriza por sua natureza exploratória: em um primeiro momento, os dados foram coletados a partir das percepções individuais dos entrevistados e, na sequência, introduziram-se os temas do estudo e suas respectivas fundamentações. Em uma segunda intervenção, verificou-se a absorção dos respondentes da temática discutida, identificando eventuais modificações nestas formas de percepções. Ao final, pode-se constatar que através da educação ambiental é possível modificar-se comportamentos e percepções e que temas transversais podem ser melhor compreendidos através de uma educação que visualiza o todo e não as menores partes constituintes de algo.

Discussions about the environment and sustainability are increasing in the educational and academic spheres and permeate the various areas of knowledge. In this context, environmental education appears as an alternative to delineate these concepts more clearly as a way of modifying not only behavior, but also the perception of individuals about the theme. The present study, in addition to rescuing the bibliographic fundamentals of the subject, seeks to understand how students of a high school prove the issues related to the environment and sustainability. The study approach is qualitative of the theme and is characterized by its exploratory nature: at first, the data were collected from the individual perceptions of the interviewees and, subsequently, the themes of the study and their respective foundations were introduced. In a second intervention, it was verified the absorption of the respondents of the topic discussed, identifying possible modifications in these forms of perceptions. In the end, it can be seen that through environmental education it is possible to change behaviors and perceptions and that transversal themes can be better understood through an education that visualizes the whole and not the smallest constituent parts of something.
