Reumo
The article proposes to investigate the perception of the workers of Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) in the State of Santa Catarina (SC), based on six Human Resources policies, under the perspective of generational diversity. The research was of quantitative nature, descriptive type and survey. For the data collection, the scale of the Human Resources Policies and Practices (EPPRH), validated in Brazil by Demo, was used in 2008. 409 workers from eleven HEI participated in the study. The results were very similar, with averages close in the items investigated, comparing the generations with very different knowledge, behavior and culture characteristics, in the Z and Baby boomers, and in the generations generations X and Y. It can be inferred that the HR policies and practices in HEIs, that the generations generally converge on thinking and perceptions about them. Some hypotheses can be raised regarding the research instrument from the results, if appropriate to the realities of the HEIs investigated.
