Resumo

O empreendedorismo sustentável, que é a descoberta, desenvolvimento e exploração de oportunidades ligadas aos nichos sociais e ambientais que geram ganho econômico e melhoria social ou ambiental (HOCKERTS e WUSTENHAGEN, 2010; PATZELT e SHEPHERD, 2011), está, dessa forma, atraindo a atenção de governos, empreendedores e pesquisadores. Santos e Silva (2012) ressaltam que a geração de riqueza por meio do empreendedorismo, de fato, só se justificará se “abarcar a preocupação com a sustentabilidade, objetivando um equilíbrio entre desenvolvimento econômico, qualidade de vida e meio ambiente mais limpo e saudável”.Nesse contexto, o estudo tem por objetivo identificar as principais características da produção científica internacional relacionada a esta temática nos últimos dez anos. Para tanto, desenvolveu-se um estudo bibliométrico, quantitativo, por meio da base de dados Web of Science, relacionando os termos “empreendedorismo” (entrepreneur*) e “sustentável” (sustainable). O período de consulta foi restrito do ano 2009 a 2018 (10 anos). Os resultados foram analisados em torno de suas principais características, tais como os tipos da produção, os principais autores, instituições, países e agências financiadoras. Analisou-se, ainda, o ano, as fontes dos dados, as áreas temáticas e o idioma das publicações. Pôde-se perceber que as áreas de pesquisa com o maior número de publicações, ‘Economia de Negócios’ (Business Economics) e ‘Ciência Ambiental e Ecologia’ (Environmental Sciences Ecology), estão associadas aos aspectos ambiental e econômico, respectivamente. Bem como as ‘Ciências Sociais e Outros Tópicos’ (Social Sciences Other Topics) associado ao aspecto social, representando o empreendedorismo sustentável, que consiste na intersecção dessas três áreas (Econômica, ambiental e social).

Sustainable entrepreneurship, which is the discovery, development and exploitation of opportunities related to social and environmental niches that generate economic gain and social or environmental improvement (HOCKERTS and WUSTENHAGEN, 2010; PATZELT and SHEPHERD, 2011), is thus attracting governments, entrepreneurs and researchers. Santos and Silva (2012) point out that the generation of wealth through entrepreneurship, in fact, will only be justified if it "concerns about sustainability, aiming at a balance between economic development, quality of life and a cleaner and healthier environment" In this context, the study aims to identify the main characteristics of international scientific production related to this theme in the last ten years. To this end, a bibliometric, quantitative study was developed through the Web of Science database, relating the terms "entrepreneur *" and "sustainable". The consultation period was restricted from 2009 to 2018 (10 years). The results were analyzed around their main characteristics, such as the types of production, the main authors, institutions, countries and funding agencies. The year, data sources, thematic areas and the language of the publications were also analyzed. The research areas with the largest number of publications, Business Economics and Environmental Sciences Ecology, are associated with environmental and economic aspects, respectively. As well as the 'Social Sciences and Other Topics' associated with the social aspect, representing sustainable entrepreneurship, which consists of the intersection of these three areas (Economic, Environmental and Social).
