Resumo

O objetivo do presente trabalho foi debater sobre o conhecimento e a visão dos catadores de materiais recicláveis dentro da Associação de Recicladores Profetas da Ecologia de Santiago (ARPES), no município de Santiago, RS sobre a Educação Ambiental, meio ambiente e discutir sobre as mensagens deixadas por eles para a sociedade, onde consta suas principais queixas e opiniões. Por meio de questões dialogadas sobre o olhar socioambientais, políticos e valorização humana. A metodologia utilizada foi um questionário aberto, sendo aplicado a cinco entrevistados, escolhidos de maneira aleatória entre os cooperados da Associação de Recicladores Profetas da Ecologia de Santiago (ARPES), no município de Santiago, RS. Participaram da entrevista três mulheres e dois homens, com diferentes idades e tempo de exercício na ARPES. Cada aplicação do questionário e entrevista foi de maneira invisual. Observou-se que os entrevistados estão cientes do seu papel na sociedade e que apenas alguns apresentam conhecimento sobre a Educação Ambiental, sendo necessário um trabalho educativo sobre essa temática com eles e com a sociedade.

The objective of the present work was to debate the knowledge and vision of recyclable material collectors within the Association of Prophet Recyclers of Ecology of Santiago (ARPES), in the municipality of Santiago, RS about Environmental Education, environment and discuss the messages left by them to society, where their main complaints and opinions appear. Through dialogued questions about the socio-environmental, political and human valuation. The methodology used was an open questionnaire, being applied to five interviewees, chosen at random among the members of the Association of Recyclers Prophets of Ecology of Santiago (ARPES), in the municipality of Santiago, RS. Three women and two men participated in the interview, with different ages and exercise time at ARPES. Each application of the questionnaire and interview was done blindly. It was observed that the interviewees are aware of their role in society and that only a few have knowledge about Environmental Education, requiring educational work on this topic with them and with society.
