Resumo

A indústria da construção civil sustentável apresenta uma migração de tecnologia que visa reduzir o impacto das edificações sobre o ambiente construído, gerações futuras e seu entorno. Nesse sentido, as certificações ambientais podem ser utilizadas como instrumentos políticos em prol da inserção social, do meio econômico, e da justiça socioambiental no setor da construção. Nesse contexto, essa pesquisa teve por objetivo investigar a compreensão de engenheiros e arquitetos, que atuam com a certificação LEED BD+C, novas construções ou grandes reformas, na região sul do Brasil. O procedimento metodológico utilizado é de uma pesquisa aplicada, qualitativa e exploratória. Assim, a pesquisa de modo geral procedeu-se com análises de documentos e aplicação de questionários dirigidos aos responsáveis técnicos (Engenheiros e/ou Arquitetos). Como resultado, o trabalho apresenta que a maioria dos entrevistados consideram o sistema de certificação LEED burocrático, e há falta de compreensão dos quesitos exigidos para certificação. Conclui-se que a dificuldade dos gestores e responsáveis técnicos para implementar a certificação LEED BD+C, na região sul do Brasil está vinculada a falta de domínio da língua inglesa, uma vez que o checklist disponibilizado pela certificadora é apenas na língua inglesa.

The sustainable construction industry presents a technology migration that aims to reduce the impact of buildings on the built environment, future generations and their surroundings. In this sense, environmental certifications can be used as political instruments in favor of social inclusion, the economic environment, and socio-environmental justice in the construction sector. In this context, this research aimed to investigate the understanding of engineers and architects, who work with LEED BD + C certification, new construction or major renovations, in the southern region of Brazil. The methodological procedure used is that of applied, qualitative and exploratory research. Thus, the research in general proceeded with document analysis and questionnaires addressed to the technicians (Engineers and / or Architects). As a result, the paper shows that most respondents consider the LEED certification system bureaucratic, and there is a lack of understanding of the requirements required for certification. It is concluded that the difficulty of managers and technicians in charge of implementing LEED BD + C certification in the southern region of Brazil is linked to the lack of knowledge of the English language, since the checklist provided by the certifier is only in English.
